SCIENCE CALIFORNIA
MY PROJECT
Research Question
How can location based mobile applications increase user’s interest and knowledge in local history of science, as well as optimize the experience?
Location-based mobile applications have been frequently used to portray local political and cultural history. However, there has been a lack of effort to effectively portray the history of science in a local region.
Los Angeles is a place of innovation, discovery and growth. All throughout LA, there are important locations symbolizing the history of science across human biology, medicine, astronomy, and technology. With science being an important part of primary education and a passion for many, a location based app can help enhance user experiences while gaining incredible knowledge of how science has progressed throughout history. Therefore, I would like to propose an experience design of human-centered, easy to use and accessible, location-based information through a mobile context. The app will use the user's location to deliver a personalized and engaging learning experience.
